Somewhere in the mountains of “Sunnmøre” after a heavy rain …
To take dark, dramatic pictures, you have to get out into nature in this weather. In Norway they say: there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing. The air after a storm is very clear. This is very good for taking pictures of the landscape
I took this picture at a mountain lake near Geiranger.
Aperture f / 6, exposure 1/80, ISO 50, focal length 17 mm, tripod, polarizing filter
To take the reflection out of the water, I screwed a polarizing filter in front of the lens. The sun breaks through the cloud cover again and lights up the mountain in the background – I like that. It brings a nice dramatic to the picture.

I am glad I found Norway’s Helle Hansen line. It allows me to go out in the wet and stinging cold whether I am are racing on sail boats or shooting ice formations on shore. It is good to have the right gear..
